Over the past three years, the number of homeless families with children has risen 30% in our region. That’s why the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, in partnership with United Way, the City of Orlando and the Orlando Magic, have established an emergency assistance fund. The Homeless Children and Families Emergency (HCFE) fund provides short-term housing assistance to families with children who are homeless or about to become homeless, but cannot access available community resources for 30 days or less. As local agencies struggle to keep pace with unprecedented demand for services, many families who are eligible to receive assistance are becoming homeless in the time it takes to access resources. A generous donation to the HCFE fund helps bridge this critical gap. It also ensures that local families have a warm, safe and secure place to raise their children – and the compassionate support they need to rebuild their lives. Please donate now.
